Summary
Understanding API-excipient interaction is vital for designing robust pharmaceutical formulations. Swelling polymer matrices for delayed drug release are a usual methodology in the design of controlled release formulations. This work describes measurement of polymer swelling behaviors and API release properties at the solid-liquid interface in an effort to elucidate polymer-API interactions that affect drug dissolution.
