Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award

 

Purpose

The Controlled Release Society Chapter of the Year Award recognizes a chapter that has provided exceptional service to its members and the Controlled Release Society. The Award will be given at the annual meeting of the Controlled Release Society.

Submission Materials

The applying Chapter should develop a portfolio outlining the Chapter’s goals, outstanding qualities, notable projects or achievement. All portfolios must specifically define the measureable achievements and accomplishments of the nominated chapter within the 14 months preceding the application deadline. Documentation attesting to the measureable achievements of the nominated chapter should be included for evaluation and consideration. The portfolio should include, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Completed application form.
  2. Calendar of 2011‐2012 Chapter activities (including planned activities until September 2012).
  3. Typed document detailing the Chapter’s successful year, including challenges or strategic goals that were met and the Chapters involvement with the Controlled Release Society.
  4. Photographs and brief descriptions of successful chapter events such as speakers, meetings, fundraisers, Chapter awardees, etc.
  5. Compilation of abstracts submitted to Chapter’s scientific activities.
  6. A copy of a publication highlighting Chapter’s activities in the CRS Newsletter (either submitted or published)
    .
  7. Example of Chapter’s board meeting minutes.
  8. A paragraph about active involvement of the Chapter in the Chapter Committee activities (quarterly teleconferences and the Chapter committee meeting at CRS annual conference).
  9. Appendix which may include sample Local Chapter newsletters, website pages, CRS News Capsule submissions on Chapter activities, meeting invitations or any other relevant supporting materials.

Submission Deadline

Applications and portfolios must be received by June 10, 2012. Late applications will not be considered. The portfolio should be sent to Megan Pagel, Controlled Release Society Headquarters, 3340 Pilot Knob Road, St. Paul, MN 55121. Portfolios can be submitted via email to mpagel@scisoc.org if sent in pdf format only.
