After attending the 2011 CRS Annual Meeting in National Harbor, Maryland, I came back to Switzerland and joined the laboratory of Professor Jean-Christophe Leroux at ETH Zurich. Thanks to endless support and precious help from Professor Leroux and my new colleagues, I have been able to quickly set up my research project and start experiments.
I appreciate the regular contacts with Professor Tsuneji Nagai, who is heartily and continuously encouraging me, giving me a lot of motivation for my research. Professor Leroux’s group is working on drug formulation and delivery in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, which belongs to the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences. That is why many pharmacists and chemical engineers here are actively collaborating to modify and improve various practical therapies with strong chemical and pharmaceutical knowledge. Combining my Ph.D. experience about siRNA-mediated cancer therapy and the chemical background of this group, I am designing and demonstrating a gastrointestinal disease therapy with a nucleic acid drug. We are fully motivated with this challenging work.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the next CRS annual meeting in Québec.
