2018 Kinam Park Student Travel Grant Program
The CRS Foundation Student Travel Grants are named in honor of CRS leaders who have made exceptional lifetime contributions to delivery science.
CRS is honoring Kinam Park via funding student travel awards so promising young scientists can attend the CRS Annual Meeting in New York City, New York, July 22-24, 2018.
2018 Travel Grant Honoree
Kinam Park received his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics from University of Wisconsin in 1983. After postdoctoral training at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the same university, he joined the faculty of Purdue University in 1986. He became the Showalter Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering in 2006. He has studied drug delivery systems for three decades with the research focus on the use of polymers for controlled release formulations. He is the founder of Akina, Inc. specializing in specialty polymers used in drug delivery systems and biomedical devices. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Controlled Release.

About the Student Travel Grant Program
Travel grants give CRS student and postdoc members the opportunity to attend CRS annual meetings.
Travel Grant Eligibility
The Kinam Park Student Travel Grants are available to current CRS Student and Postdoc members only that have been accepted to present (either as an oral or poster) at the 2018 CRS Annual Meeting in New York. Award selection will be based on the quality of the applicant's science reflected in their research abstract, impact statement, and curriculum vita.
Applications must be submitted via the online application form along with ONE (1) portable document file (PDF file) saved as last name, first name (example: SmithTom_travelaward.pdf) uploaded via the application. Each page in the PDF file should have the name of the applicant included in the page header.
Save the following items into ONE portable document file (pdf):
- One-page statement indicating how attending this meeting will impact your research and/or career. Include with this statement the name and email of one faculty member as endorsement for your application.
- Abbreviated CV
- Copy of your accepted abstract of research to be presented at the 2018 CRS Annual Meeting.
