Ana Cadete has a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lisbon. Her PhD is in Nanomedicine and Pharmaceutical Innovation within the Nanofar Program. This PhD was held between the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the University of Angers, France, and Bind Therapeutics, where she spent 6 months in an internship. Currently, Ana is a postdoc at Novobiotic Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the Langer Lab, MIT. She’s working on a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop formulations for the delivery of antimicrobial peptides. Ana believes nanomedicine can change the paradigm of drug failure and make available new and better treatments for people. She has a strong interest in business and translational research, and thinks great academic ideas can turn into real projects. In the future, Ana would like to help startup companies to be successful. In her spare time, Ana is a backpack traveler and loves to experience people's lives in different places. She’s been to south Asia, the West and South American Coast and Europe. She particularly loves the North of Spain. A fun fact about Ana: she was a trampoline gymnast until she was 25 and Vice-European Champion in Double Mini Trampoline (team tournament) in 2014. Sports are a large part of her after-work life and recently she ran the Cambridge half-marathon.
