What are the Soapbox Sessions?
The Soapbox Sessions introduce the latest, most novel technologies, products, and services for controlled delivery in bioactive materials, consumer & diversified products, and animal health. It’s an opportunity for an individual or company “to get up on your soapbox” in a well-attended forum to communicate what’s new. Best of all, it’s FREE to all registrants!

Who attends?
Big Pharma, biotech companies, technology transfer offices, universities; business developers, product formulators, licensing officers, and venture capitalists -- in essence, everyone who has an interest in seeing what’s new.

How does it work?

  • Presentations are listed in the 2010 CRS Annual Meeting Program and publicized prior to the annual meeting.
  • A session is made up of five to seven fast-paced, five-minute presentations.
  • Four sessions are planned.
  • Discussion breaks are scheduled between each session in order to:
    • Allow speakers and audience members to meet informally over refreshments Ask and answer questions
    • Exchange greater detail about products and services
    • Establish leads
    • Make sales
    • Get recognized
    • Develop partnerships
    • Secure financial support

Soapbox submission opens November 2, 2009
Soapbox submission closes February 25, 2010
Following review by the committee, notifications of acceptance* or rejection will be sent no later than April 1, 2010.

*Technologies, products, and services with the best likelihood of acceptance will:
-- be from a small start-up organization
-- have a novel concept
-- be highly correlated with the interests of CRS and the controlled delivery of a bioactive substance
-- have an early submission date

These highly popular Soapbox Sessions have far more demand than time available in the program, requiring that a waiting list is maintained. To underscore the importance of these sessions and their value in the program, a credit card is required to reserve the presentation time. The card will be processed for $500 ONLY if the presenter fails to participate in the session.
