The CRS Nordic Local Chapter event was organized together with The Annual Nordic POP network meeting 2020. See Nordic POP network.

The meeting was held in Denmark at The University of Copenhagen, from January 7th to 9th and gathered 213 participants. The program included well-reputed invited speakers, within the following 6 themes:

  1. Barrier: Associate Professor Massimiliano Pio Di Cagno, University of Oslo, Norway presented “In vitro artificial permeability assays: a guide for users”
  2. Product: Assistant Professor Johan Peter Bøtker; University of Copenhagen, Denmark presented “Acoustic Monitoring of an inhalation device”
  3. Engineer: Dr Mirja Palo, Åbo Academy University, Finland presented “Printing technology for personalize dosing”
  4. Analytics: Associate Professor Clare Strachan, University of Helsinki, Finland presented “Surface crystallinity: detection, significance and control”
  5. Synchrotrom: Dr Babara Berke, Chalmers University, Sweden presented ”An insight into small- and wide- angle X-ray imaging”
  6. Modeling and Simulation: Dr Erik Sjogren, Uppsala University, Sweden presented “Physiologically based modeling: what can it do for you as a formulation scientist”

Furthermore 24 speakers were selected from the 84 submitted abstracts. Posters were presented during separate Poster sessions. The best oral and best poster presentations were selected based on the following criteria:

  • Excellence in science
  • Within the theme for the CRS Nordic Chapter annual Meeting
  • Young  researcher

…….. and the winners were Nele-Johanna Hempel – University of Copenhagen and Elle Koivunotko – University of Helsinki  for the best oral and best poster presentation, respectively Figure 1.
