Diana Pinto is a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), Catholic University of Porto, Portugal. In 2024, she concluded her PhD in Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Porto, supervised by Dr. Francisca Rodrigues, in collaboration with the School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP), and the University of Barcelona (Spain). Her main research interests are focused on the oral delivery of bioactive molecules and bioengineering fields. Her academic journey began in 2015 during MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Porto, where she volunteered as a researcher in the Chemical Sciences Department. She is currently dedicated to a postdoctoral contract working on nanotechnology and the oral delivery of bioactives for gastrointestinal diseases co-therapy. To date, she has authored 47 peer-reviewed papers (25 as first author; h-index 24) and 9 book chapters, while contributing to 5 R&D projects and delivering 36 oral and 49 poster presentations at national/international conferences. Her work was distinguished with 16 awards for presentations and travel grants. She is also actively involved in other scientific societies (Metabolomics Society, MetSoc) as well as collaborations with industry and international research institutes.
