PhD Student
Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil
Flávia holds a Teaching Degree (Licentiate) in Biological Sciences and is currently a PhD student at Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where she began her doctoral studies at the end of 2023. Her research focuses on the development of an mRNA-based vaccine against Chikungunya virus.
During her academic training, she gained experience in polymeric nanoparticle systems and contributed to CAR-T–related research projects, strengthening her background in gene-based therapies and translational immunology. Her scientific interests lie at the intersection of molecular vaccinology, gene delivery, and immunomodulation.
Since 2026, she has been a member of the Young Scientist Committee (YSC) of the Controlled Release Society, contributing to initiatives that support early-career researchers in drug and gene delivery sciences.
