Hamid Ghandehari

hgHamid Ghandehari is Professor and George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Presidential Endowed Chair in the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and Director of Utah Center for Nanomedicine at The University of Utah. His research, reported in over 200 peer-reviewed publications and approximately 500 abstracts to-date, has focused on the design of recombinant polymers for localized drug and gene delivery, targeted delivery of polymer therapeutics to solid tumours, oral delivery of polymeric conjugates, and assessing the biocompatibility of silica and dendritic nanoconstructs. He has given over 250 invited lectures world-wide. Dr. Ghandehari served as Editor in Chief of Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews from 2012-2022. He is Fellow of the Controlled Release Society, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He has been an active member of CRS since 1992. Over the years he has organized, chaired and given talks at many CRS panels and workshops. Notably, he served as chair of programming committees for the 2012 and 2018 annual CRS meetings held in Quebec City and New York respectively, was a member of the CRS Scientific Advisory Board from 2014-2017, and continues to serve on the editorial board of Journal of Controlled Release. Dr. Ghandehari received his BS in Pharmacy (1989) and PhD in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (1996) from The University of Utah.
