Indonesia Local Chapter

The Controlled Release Society Indonesia Local Chapter (CRSID) is being formed as a practical, community-oriented branch of the global Controlled Release Society. It began with Indonesian pharmaceutical scientists who recognized the need for a national platform to strengthen knowledge and collaboration in delivery science. CRSID focuses on improving how active ingredients such as drugs, cosmetics, fragrances, flavors, and agricultural compounds are formulated and delivered, connecting research, regulation, and real-world application.

Indonesia provides a strong foundation for this work. The country has a broad academic network of pharmacy programs and related fields including biomedical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, chemical engineering, agriculture, and public health. At the same time, more than 220 pharmaceutical and life science companies, along with growing sectors in biotech, cosmetics, food technology, and agriculture, create demand for better, safer, and more effective delivery systems. Regulatory and research institutions such as BPOM, the Ministry of Health, and BRIN contribute to this ecosystem and are natural partners as they move toward more science-based policies and standards.

CRSID aims to serve not only as a professional society but also as a connector that brings people and ideas together. Through discussions, mentoring, workshops, and collaborative projects, CRSID will help bridge academia, industry, and government. Whether advancing targeted drug delivery, improving vaccine stability, or developing sustainable release systems in agriculture, the goal is to link scientific innovation with local relevance and real public benefit. By doing so, CRSID hopes to support stronger innovation and knowledge exchange in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and beyond.
