About the Award
The Controlled Release Society grants this honor to a CRS member at nomination and issuance of the award who is widely regarded for outstanding industrial and translational contributions to delivery science and technology.
The award aims to recognize individuals who have spent the majority of their careers in industry. They can hold adjunct or visiting professorships at universities, but their primary affiliation should be with a company. The individual should have ample evidence of industry leadership and achievements, a clear focus on product and patient innovation, plus contributions to successful translation, regulatory approval and/or market introduction and patient impact. In addition, the ideal candidate has played a prominent role in educating and attracting next-generation industry delivery scientists.
Criteria
- Outstanding contributions to delivery science (e.g. launches, patents, pipeline progression, talent development, capability build, strategically-based science, delivery Innovation, patient impact)
- Demonstrated leadership in advancing delivery science
- Commitment to CRS, its mission, and objectives
Eligibility
- Current CRS membership is not required at the time of nomination, but it is mandatory to become a CRS member in order to receive the award. Proof of membership will be required upon acceptance.
- Nominee must be supported by at least 2 CRS members through the online system.
Nominations - Deadline: March 30, 2026, 11:59 pm ET
All nominations for the CRS awards are submitted through the nomination form for consideration. Please note, that self-nominations are greatly encouraged but must be supported by at least 2 CRS members . The following areas will be reviewed for eligibility by the Award Committee:
- Contributions to Delivery Science (60%)
- Contributions to the Controlled Release Society (20%)
- Contributions to global engagement of science, people, and the community in the controlled release area (20%)
- A CV for the nominee is required
Selection Process
The Industry Achievement Award Committee will make the selection of the awardee. The committee is comprised of a Chair, 1 Industry Foresight Council member, 1 Industry Advisory Group, 1 College of Fellows member, and 1 Former Board Member.
The Industry Achievement Award Committee will conduct a peer review of the nomination in light of the established criteria for the award.
At the conclusion of the evaluation process, the Board of Directors will ratify the selection made by the Industry Achievement Award Committee, and the recipient will be notified directly.
CRS will present this Award based on qualified applicants only and reserves the right not to present the Award on an annual basis.
Award
- Award Plaque and recognition at the Annual Meeting
- The awardee will be invited to present an Award lecture during the Annual Meeting
- Complimentary Annual Meeting registration (must be used for the Annual Meeting in the year of the award)
- Contribution towards travel expenses
