Maria José Silveira concluded her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology Applied to Health Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy and ICBAS of the University of Porto (PT), in 2024, under a collaboration with the University of Twente (NL). Her research interest is at the interface between nanomedicine and immuno-oncology, including biomaterials, colon-targeted drug delivery, nanomedicines, drug delivery approaches for immunomodulation, and 3D modeling technology. The main work developed by Maria in this area has resulted in 3 awards, 6 peer-reviewed articles, and more than 25 international communications. In recent years, Maria was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Twente, NL, and the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (DIVERSA, IDIS), ES. Through her academic journey, she was always interested in sharing scientific knowledge by participating in the organizing committee of several conferences and outreach initiatives. Furthermore, she took her MSc degree at UA (PT), did a post-graduation course in Pathology and Molecular Genetics at ICBAS(PT), and was a Biomedical scientist at CHBV (PT). The scientific journey of Maria has included her active involvement in several Scientific Societies (e.g., CRS, ASPIC, EACR) and Technical Committee activities (CRS YSC). In addition, Maria served on the Advisory Committee for the Doctoral Program in Molecular and Cellular
