Mireya L. Borrajo is a PhD student in Drug Research and Development at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Spain) under the supervision of Prof. María José Alonso. She obtained her B.Sc. in Biochemistry at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2017, and her M.Sc. in Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2018.Since then, she is conducting research on polymeric and lipid-based formulations for RNA delivery for therapeutic applications, including the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and the development of vaccines, being part of international and national consortiums. Moreover, she is a member of the Young Committee of Spanish Portuguese Chapter of the Controlled Release Society (SPLC-CRS). Outside of science, she plays for an amateur basketball team and she loves traveling, live music, and yoga.
