Profile: Thomas Moore

tm

Dr. Thomas Moore is an expert in the fields of nanomedicine and bio-nanomaterial interactions. After completing his Bachelor’s studies in Bioengineering at Clemson University (Clemson, SC, USA) with a focus on biomaterials, he continued at Clemson in the Nanomedicine lab of Prof. Frank Alexis, developing theranostic nanoparticles for drug delivery. Following his doctoral work, Thomas joined the group of Profs. Alke Fink and Barbara Rothen-Rutishauser at the Adolphe Merkle Institute (Fribourg, Switzerland) as a postdoctoral researcher investigating the fundamental interactions between nanomaterials and biological systems. In 2018, he joined the group of Prof. Paolo Decuzzi as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie MINDED research fellow at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Genoa, Italy) investigating delivery methods to transport particles across the blood-brain barrier to treat neurodevelopmental disorders.
