Yasmine Gomaa is currently a Principal Scientist and Applied Research Manager at Micron Biomedical. She was a Senior Research Scientist and the Associate Director of the Laboratory of Drug Delivery at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia since April 2020. She earned a BA, MD and Ph D degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt. Her research experience over the past 20 years has been in the delivery of drugs, vaccines and cosmeceuticals, especially via the transdermal and topical route. Early in her research career, she utilized drug delivery systems for skin delivery and recently microneedle based systems for skin and transdermal delivery of drugs and vaccines. She has a strongpublication record, is a co-inventor for three pending patents and co-wrote several successful grants. She has worked in collaboration with industry, academic institutions, and several governmental, private and regulatory agencies as well as organizations such as CDC, WHO, UNICEF and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
