Summary

Goblet cell-targeting trimethyl chitosan nanoparticles conjugated with CSK peptide were prepared by multi ion crosslinked method with hydrophobic modification. Compared with single ion crosslinked nanoparticles, these nanoparticles showed improved stability, in combined with the targeting effects, led to the enhanced insulin transport across the mucus-secreting cell monolayer as well as the ligated ileum loop of rats. Finally, significant blood glucose depressions were found in diabetic rats.
