Chiara Bastiancich

cbChiara obtained a double PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences (UCLouvain - University of Angers, Erasmus Mundus NanoFar program) in 2018. Then, she performed a postdoc at the Gliomagenesis and MicroEnvironment research group (Aix Marseille University, France) until 2022. Currently, she is Assistant Professor (tenure track RTD-B) in Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Torino (Italy) and visiting researcher at Aix-Marseille University and UCLouvain. Chiara’s research focus is the development of drug-loaded delivery systems for the treatment of malignant brain tumors. Coming from a family of scientists, artists, cooking- and travelling-lovers, Chiara grew up with the idea that new is good, international is fun and passion is the key. This allowed her to develop a global vision of science, interact with experts in different disciplines and become a T-shaped researcher able to develop academic research in a bench to bedside perspective. In addition to her passion for research, Chiara has a strong interest in mentoring younger scientists and for this reason she happily coordinates the YSC Mentoring program! Chiara joined the CRS to represent and promote the work of her labs into the drug delivery community and to develop collaborations that might lead to exciting and patient-oriented projects. Being part of the YSC has been a fantastic way to expand her network, receive and provide feedbacks on diverse topics, implement a variety of soft skills & contribute to the progress of the scientific community.
