Heba Abd-El-Azim

gfhfHeba is a passionate young scientist with a great ambition. She is a lecturer of Pharmaceutics in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Damanhour University, Egypt. She has a B. Pharm and M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt. She holds a Ph.D. degree (November 2021) in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) (Joint scholarship between the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast, UK and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt). The core of her Ph.D. project was improving the anticancer photodynamic efficacy using a combination of both nanocarriers and microneedles. Her research interests focus on development and characterization of microneedles and novel drug delivery systems, photodynamic therapy, immunotherapy, and applications of computational modeling in drug formulation and evaluation. She is always motivated for developing next generation drug delivery technologies.


Heba is enthusiastic for international scientific collaboration and networking. She has a vision for science delivery and believes that being a YSC member will help her to achieve her vision and support young scientists. Outside of research, she shares in different volunteering and public engagement activities. In her free time, she loves travelling, discovering new places with different cultures, writing and sharing in cosmetic academies. She likes to learn languages and acquire new skills such as voice over and dubbing. One of her favorite quotes: “For a better world, be the change you want to see”.
