Flávia Sousa is a Junior Researcher at I3S, Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Sáude, University of Porto and an Invited Auxiliar Professor at IUCS, Instituto Universitário Ciências da Saúde. She received her master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from IUCS. In 2019, she completed her PhD in biomedical sciences developed at I3S (Porto, Portugal), INL (International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Braga, Portugal), Aalborg University (Aalborg, Denmark) and Northeastern University (Boston, USA). In the past 4 years, she has authored over 20 publications and received 7 scientific awards from different countries. Her research interests are related to the nanomedicine field, where she built a solid foundation in nanobiomaterials-based nanocarriers for cancer treatment, especially glioblastoma. Flávia Sousa is a member of the Young Committee of Spanish Portuguese Chapter of the Controlled Release Society (SPLC-CRS), member of Young Scientist Committee (YSC) of Controlled Release Society, first vowel of the Fiscal Council of Portuguese American Postgraduate Society and a belongs to a board of CRS Focus Group in Nanomedicine and Nanoscale Delivery as Trainee Representative.
