Mariah Arral is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA (USA). She works with Prof. Kathryn Whitehead and is partially supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Mariah’s research is on lipid nanoparticle mediated mRNA delivery. She is focused on evaluating efficacy, toxicity, and immune response in lipid nanoparticle delivery. Mariah’s future goals include obtaining a post-doctoral position to expand her knowledge of drug delivery, biomaterials, and the immune system. She wants to combine the knowledge she gains from her Ph.D. and post-doctoral position to develop her own research program as a tenure-track professor. Outside of the lab, Mariah enjoys cooking, running, and watching sports.
