Sara Siva Nogueira is a PhD student in RNA Formulation & Drug Delivery department, at BioNTech. She
received her bachelor degree in Biology at University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Vila Real,
Portugal). Sara graduated then from University of Minho (Braga, Portugal with a master in Biophysics
and Bionanosystems, where she developed liposomal formulations for siRNA delivery. Afterwards, she
performed an internship at Max Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces (Potsdam, Germany), under
Erasmus Placement Program, to further investigate biophysical interactions between nanosystems and
nucleic acids. Currently, as an industrial PhD student under academic supervison of Prof. Peter Langguth,
at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Mainz, Germany), she has been focused in understanding
structure-function correlations of mRNA nanoparticles, and developing the next generation of tailored
delivery systems for clinical development. Sara participated as board member of different international
associations and as quality assurance agent through Accreditation of Degree Programs. In her free time,
Sara enjoys reading, travelling, cooking and jogging.
