Wing Man Lau is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy at Newcastle University (UK). She is a UK-registered pharmacist with a MPharm degree from King’s College London (UK) and a PhD in pharmaceutical drug delivery from Cardiff University (UK), where she researched the co-drug approach to drug delivery. Currently, her research focuses on controlled non-oral drug delivery (e.g. transdermal, bladder, transmucosal, ocular, nasal as well as microbial biofilms). She is particularly interested in novel polymeric drug delivery systems including stimuli- responsive polymers, mucoadhesive polymers, bio-responsive systems and hydrogels to overcome absorption barriers and achieve site specific drug targeting. She is also interested in advanced therapeutic drug delivery technologies including pulsatile and ultra-long controlled release drug delivery systems. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and meeting friends.
