This can take various forms, showcasing a commitment to the development and support of young scientists within the Controlled Release Society (CRS). Examples of contributions to the YSC include, but are not limited to:
    • Advocating for the interests and concerns of young scientists within the CRS, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
    • Representing the YSC in CRS meetings, conferences, or committees to ensure that the perspectives of young scientists are integrated into the overall mission and activities of the society.
    • Engaging with the broader scientific community to raise awareness of the YSC and its initiatives.
    • Securing funding or sponsorship to support YSC initiatives and ensure the availability of resources for young scientists.
    • Creating opportunities for professional development of the YSC committee members.
    • Creating platforms for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among YSC members and the broader CRS community.
    • Serving as a chair or co-chair of the YSC, providing strategic direction and organizing events that benefit young scientists.
    • Initiating and leading subcommittees or YSC events or working groups within the YSC focusing on specific areas such as mentorship programs, networking events, or professional development workshops.
    • Other diverse ways in which the candidate contributed to the YSC, creating a supportive and enriching environment for young scientists within the CRS.
Examples that showcase contributions to mentoring young scientists, include but are not limited to:
    • Instances where the nominee has exhibited exceptional leadership in guiding and mentoring young scientists.
    • The candidate's efforts in developing leadership skills among young scientists, fostering a new generation of leaders in the field.
    • The candidate’s efforts in the training and development of young scientists.
    • Any innovative approaches or initiatives the nominee has undertaken to advance the development and growth of young scientists within the YSC or the broader scientific community.
    • Proven accomplishments of young scientists resulting from an effective guidance and mentoring.
    • Educational initiatives such as organizing educational events, webinars, or workshops that address the specific needs and challenges faced by young scientists, contributing to their skill development.
Examples of these contributions include, but are not limited to: developing EDI framework, advocacy for inclusive practices, monitoring of inclusivity, creating safe spaces, addressing systematic barriers, promoting visibility of the achievements from underrepresented population and celebrating them, inclusive recruitment strategies, culturally sensitive mentorship approaches, providing equitable opportunities, and offering tailored support to address the diverse needs of mentees.
This section is meant to enable nominators to convey additional noteworthy information on the candidate to the committee. This may include personal (e.g. on background, health issues, family situation) as well as professional (involvement in other societies, mentoring, career moves, breaks, etc.).
A current CV of the nominee should include relevant professional achievements and training record.
